Switchboards, Control- and Governing Systems.

Most small hydro-power plants are not built to operate on an isolated power grid and for this reason they do not need a separate turbine governor. The governor requirements for this kind of power plant are limited to handle start/stop and load control (water consumption). 

Energi Teknikk designs and manufactures electrical switchboards and control- and governing systems for small hydro-power plants.

Our switchboards and governing systems can be easily adapted to all types of  generator equipment from small 5 kW asynchronous generators up to ”large” synchronous generators of several thousand kilowatts.

For the smallest plants we normally recommend automated relay boards with necessary instrumentation and signal outputs for switchboard and turbine governor.

Switchboards for larger plants will normally be designed with PLS-based control system with graphic user interface.

We also supply remote control, surveillance and alarm systems with communication through landline, internet and/or cell phone/SMS.

Switchboards for synchronous generators are also equipped with a recognized Loss of Mains detector system including Rate Of Change Of Frequency and Vector Shift. Such equipment is in many cases a prerequisite from the power grid owners to obtain permission for connection of a synchronous generator to their grid.

The switchboards are delivered complete with all required documentation. Normally, it will only be necessary to hook up cables from generator and grid in addition to sensor cables.
